Historical Notes: "C" 851, 2-6-2 type locomotive, was the first locomotive to be built at the Hutt workshops (makers number 259/30), and went into service in November 1930. She was written off in October 1966. See "Register of New Zealand Railways steam locomotives, 1863-1971" by W G Lloyd.
