Bastion Point protesters at Parliament, Wellington, 30 June 1977
Reference Number: EP/1977/2494/7A-F
Original Evening Post caption reads: "Waiting patiently to talk with the Minister of Lands (Mr Venn Young) this morning were these four Bastion Point protesters, part of a group of 30 who went to Parliament. From left, are: Jim Moriarty (who plays Ricki in television's "Close to Home"), David Ruru, Hira Tumoana and Kelly Walker. They arrived too late, however, to keep their appointment with the Minister. Mr Ruru, a spokesman for the group, read out a submission and telegrams of support from the protestors at Bastion Point." The Beehive, under construction, can be seen in the background. Photographed by an unidentified Evening Post staff photographer on the 30th of June 1977.
