Historical Notes: "A" 602 was built by Price (maker's no. 57/14) went into service in April 1914, was converted into a two-cylinder simple-expansion engine between 1941 and 1949, and was written off in June 1969. See "Register of New Zealand Railways steam locomotives, 1863-1971" by W G Lloyd.
