Historical Notes: "Wab" 786 was built at New Zealand Railways, Hillside (maker's no 243/25), went into service in July 1926, and was converted to "Ab" type locomotive in September 1947. See "Register of New Zealand Railways steam locomotives 1863-1971" by W G Lloyd.
