Historical Notes: "Ub" 328 was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works, Philadelphia (maker's no 18574/01), entered service on the 17 June 1901 and was written off in March 1935. (Information from the 'Register of New Zealand Steam Locomotives 1863-1971' by W G Lloyd, 1974, page 59.) See also 'Cavalcade of New Zealand locomotives' by A N Palmer & W W Stewart (p 75).
