Three unidentified Maori girls shelling toheroa on a beach. They appear to be wrapped up for the cold, and each wears a hat. Shows them looking at the camera, seated alongside two kete full of the shellfish which they shell into tins. Empty shells cover the ground around them. Photograph probably taken in the Northland region between 1910-1939 by Arthur James Northwood.
