A group of people proceeding along a road using alternatives to cars, probably because of 'carless days'. The alternatives include roller skates, a go-cart, a scooter and a horse. A superior-looking man on a modern bicycle is looking critically at an older man on an old-style cycle. The older man is defending his choice of transport and admitting that he last rode his cycle in 1936There is also a self-portrait of the cartoonist in the bottom right corner. He is shown about to hit a softball or baseball being bowled to him. The ball is inscribed 'Kenny Rogers vs NZBC 'n' Dom' and Heath is saying 'Gee! is it that time already', a reference to an upcoming broadcast
