Photograph taken by John Pascoe in 1945.Caption from Pascoe file in Photographic Archive reads: "All coal mines employing more than 10 men underground are required to be equipped with bath houses, where miners strip, wash, and change into dry clothes. It is important for the right temperature in the bath house to be maintained over night, then the wet clothes will dry out in readiness for the next day's work."
