Shows three scenes surrounded by a border of Maori carving with inlaid greenstone. The first scene show the "true pioneer", the surveyor, camped in the forest. The second shows "the first attack" (road-making), and the third shows "Victory!" - the smiling home - settled farmland with road and farmhouse.
