Fishing waka being launched on Papatapu Creek, Aotea Harbour, north of Kawhia, on the 24th of February, 1934. Taken by an unidentified photographer.The men by the waka are Ted (?) Waitere, Hone Waitere, Were Waitere and Joe Waitere. The girl in the bow is Lettie Waitere, later Lettie Phillips.
