Shows two buildings in an open plain, with five horses drawing a covered wagon in the left foreground, a cart drawn by eight bullocks at the right, and five Maori figures and two dogs in the immediate right foreground. The covered wagon has the names "Reynolds & English" along the side. The sign on the right hand building reads "Inverness Store, James Dewar". Near this store is a single horse and cart, a man and two dogs. The left hand building is slightly larger with a verandah, two chimneys, and seven windows along the front.
