Inscriptions: Inscribed - On album page - beneath image: Highest spot Motuara Island, Queen Charlotte Sound. On 31st January 1770 a post was set up here and New Zealand taken possession of, for the use of His Majesty King George III, and the Sound dignified with the name of Queen Charlotte.
