Historical Notes: Four masted steamship of 4748 tons. Built in 1883 by Harland & Wolff, Belfast, for the White Star Line. Remodelled in 1898. Purchased 1900 by the Aberdeen Line, when her name was changed to Sophocles. This photograph dated between 1883 and 1897, as it has not been remodelled.
