Head and shoulders caricature portrait in oval of Walter Woods Johnston, Postmaster-General and Commissioner of Telegraphs in the Hall Ministry. Below the portrait is the following humorous verse: 'When raised to office - then sanguine as men are all, / New Postal Offices having in view, / Wellington hailed him as Postmaster-General, / Likewise as member for Manawatu. / Ain't it unpleasant now - up to the present how - / Ever he's not built those offices new.'
