Maia Cusack Smith with a dog called Doctor on the verandah of her father's office, Apia, Samoa. The board behind her reads "H B M's High Commissioners Court for the Western Pacific" and "Deputy Commissioner for Samoa." Probably photographed about 1891 by her father, Sir Thomas Berry Cusack Smith, the British High Commissioner for Samoa.
