Inscriptions: Inscribed - Recto - bottom centre: City of Christchurch Nov 14 1849 [in faint pencil]. On the reverse are various notes including carefully-written Maori names in another hand, one being Hoani Paratene followed by a note in Mantell's hand 'by Topi & Taiaroa. Dec. 17 Monday'
