Caption published in the New Zealand Free Lance, 16/4/1947, page 8 reads: Wives of three Wellington K.C's who were among local legal wives collaborating in the first hospitality 'cuppa' extended to visiting wives of the profession who accompanied their husbands to the first conference of the New Zealand Law Society held since 1938. Official responsibilities as hostess-in-chief devolved on Mrs Philip Cooke (on right), wife of the president. Mrs John O'Shea (centre) [or Mrs H G R Mason? see below] and Mrs H E Evans (wife of the Solicitor General) partner her...". Photographer unidentified.Information on original print identifies the woman in the centre as Mrs H G R Mason.
