H.E. Juan Antonio Samaranch, President of the International Olympic Committtee (IOC) since 1980, is shown sweeping cash under a rug which has the design of the five Olympic rings upon it. Samaranch was called upon to testify at a United States federal investigation into alleged bribery in the bid made by Salt Lake City for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. At the 108th IOC Session in March 1999 Samaranch received a vote of confidence but 6 of the 90 members of the IOC were expelled for 'inappropriate behaviour'.
