Original Evening Post newspaper caption attached to back of print reads: "On the route north.- The new traffic bridge at Paremata, which has been the subject of conferences over many years, was opened for public use on Saturday afternoon by the Minister of Transport, the Hon. R. Semple. Above, a general view of the big gathering on the bridge during the ceremony.
