Lodge, Nevile Sidney, 1918-1989:That's the last time we do a show in a public bar between five and six! 30 September 1964.
Reference Number: B-133-304
Four musicians are carrying their squashed instruments out of a public bar. Approval for bands and orchestras to provide music in bars had been given in a Sale of Liquor Amendment bill, but 'six o'clock closing' was still in force and bars were packed between five and six p.m. The musicians have long hair and are wearing tweed suits, bow ties and winkle picker shoes.
