Photograph taken by John Pascoe.Original caption reads: "On a granite outcrop in a little known part of Nelson, Frank chews lunch and thinks about the untracked bush between him and the coast. For four years he served in a Field Ambulance Unit overseas with the 2nd NZEF. Now he gets material for a report on plant life and birds. Shortly he will return to the war."
