Karitane Nurses' Home, Christchurch, photographed by John Pascoe in 1943.Original caption reads: "A Karitane Babies' Hospital in Christchurch. Karitane Hospitals are run by the Plunket Society and assisted by State subsidy. Not only are they hospitals for premature or sick babies, but they are centres where 'Mothercraft' training is given to those whose children raise problems of special care in their first few months."
