Richards, Edward Smallwood, 1834-1917 :Portrait of Te Rangi Topeora, [ca 1860s]

Shows the Ngati Toa and Ngati Raukawa chieftainess Te Rangi Topeora, wearing a Maori cloak and a tiki, circa 1860s. There are four tail feathers of the huia bird (now extinct) fixed in her hair, a sign of her high rank. Photograph taken by Edward Smallwood Richards.
