Historical Notes: Beacause of their musical ability, they [Lydia and William] were known as Mr and Mrs "Banjo" Williams. Lydia's own instument is a commercially manufactured one, but Edgar has recorded that William made his own banjo. (Caption from the exhibition `Lydia')
