Historical Notes: This engine, built by Baldwins (maker's no 4661/79), entered service on 2nd February 1880, and was written off in March 1928. (Information from the `Register of New Zealand Steam Locomotives 1863-1971' by W G Lloyd, 1974, page 45.)
