The view of the township is from an elevated position and shows the commercial and public buildings and the river. Grahamstown was one of two townships (Shortland being the other) which were merged in 1870 and in 1873 became the Borough of Thames. Photographer unknown. Cut down from an original 1/2 plate negative.
