No. 22 & 24: 'Patterns by Tamati Ngakaho, the decorator of Rapata Wahawaha's famous house at Waiomatatini of the Waiapu River' No. 23, 24: 'Arawa patterns known there as 'puhoro'. These should have been painted wholely in black' (transcription of Williams' notes at the front of the volume)
