Tuke, Batty (Sir), fl 1860s :Pipiriki by Dr Batty Tuke [1861]

A view from the opposite bank of the Whanganui River, looking towards the settlement of Pipiriki with around 20 houses near the water and on the lower slopes of the hill, bush cleared back to the higher slopes. There is a cabbage tree prominent on the flat land near the river bank
