Pencil sketch is a preliminary drawing for "Pencarrow Head, Fitzroy Bay" Plate 4 (no. 11) in "Pictorial illustrations of New Zealand", London, Williams, 1847. Shows a view looking west towards Wellington Harbour Heads from Fitzroy Bay, with Pencarrow Head protruding at the right, but not topped by a lighthouse as it is in the published lithgraph.Possibly the preliminary sketch for the watercolour, whose fileprint has the negative number 1/2-024747-F (Privately owned?)
