Historical Notes: The photographer's brother, Edward Holroyd Beere (1843-1906) planned, surveyed and graded areas in Miramar, Kilbirnie, Seatoun and other parts of the south eastern suburbs of Wellington. He lived adjacent "Beerehaven Steps" in Seatoun until hids death in 1906.
