Street scene, Kyoto, Japan, ca 1900

Reference Number: PA1-f-146-09-2

View from what might be a bridge down a street crowded with people. They are dressed in traditional clothes and carry many Japanese and European umbrellas. A number of rickshaws and a hand cart can be seen. Three storied buildings with rattan blinds and screens line both sides of the street and flags and banners with images and words on them can be seen everywhere along the street and on the buildings.
