Historical Notes: Note on back of file print reads: Site of tramway power house, corner of Jervois Quay and Wkefield Str. 1930 Demolition was well underway 19 Feb 1930 (EP). Here the site is in the last stages of being cleared. The site was beautified with a concrete edged lawn. At the time it was intended that this would eventually be the site for a new Central Library.
