Depicts Sir Julius Vogel as Jonah on the deck of a ship (Zealandia) in a tempest, about to be thrown to the Public (a whale) by his political colleagues. Also on the deck is a box, marked 'J. Vogel, KCMG, Financier - This way up'. It is upside-down. A 7-verse poem below is signed H. B. B.
