First Dobson School as dramn on the opening day 15 August 1887 by the son of the first Headmaster. The school is a wooden building, L-shaped, with newly-cut tree trunks around it, a bell frame at the front, dense bush behind, mothers farewelling children, the headmaster beckoning and children playing outside
