A view from the shore of John Plimmer's 'ark' warehouse, moored at the modern junction of Lambton Quay and Willis Streets, its hull that of the wrecked barque Inconstant, with a warehouse constructed above. A flag is flying at the doorway and other ships are visible in the background, along with the hills of Brooklyn and Mount Victoria. The name John Plimmer can be seen on the side of the superstructure, and the signature of the artist, W. H. Holmes and the title are also visible along the bottom of the drawing, as is a photographer's name (Gregg).
