Reference Number: 1/2-160359-F
View from Fairfield, looking south-west across the eastern suburbs of Lower Hutt, toward Wellington Harbour. In the middle of Norton Park Ave, which runs the breadth of the photograph, is the bridge over the Waiwhetu Stream: the path of the stream is marked by the line of trees leading to the bottom right corner. The road running from Norton Park Ave is Parnell Street, which turns into Woodvale Grove at the bottom of the photograph. To the right of the Waiwhetu Bridge is North Street, leading into Burnside Street. Wyndrum Ave runs around the bottom of the Eastern Hutt hills on the left. Somes Island is visible in the distance. Taken by an unidentified photographer, circa 1930s.
