View looking up Tinakori Road towards the bushline, from approximately where Hawkestone Street joins it, looking in the direction of Kelburn. There is a bullock dray in the foreground, the driver standing nearby, a Maori family carrying bundles walking away to the left, and in the centre, on the hill behind, Nathaniel Levin's house (later the site of Premier House), with Arthur Holroyd's behind it. In the distance to the left against the bushline is Mr (William?) Dorset's house.
