Pearse, John 1808-1882 :J. P.'s first lodgings at foot of Wellington Terrace, Wellington [1852]

A small cottage with two windows either side of a central front door, a chimney on the left. A plant-covered archway and a hedge are at the front, a paling fence to the right. In the garden, close to three circular or semi-circular flower beds, stand a couple and a dog. The house is at the base of a bush-clad hill and there is native bush in the section to the right
