An imaginative reconstruction of the capture of the ship Boyd in Whangaroa Harbour in August 1810. Two canoes are setting off from the near shore, while a third is on the water, heading for the ship. Two dead sailors lie in the left foreground. People can be seen swaming up the rigging of the ship which is in the middle distance.
