Historical Notes: "Te Maori: Maori art from New Zealand collections" edited by S M Mead (Auckland, Heinemann, 1984) identifies a poutokomanawa figure photographed in front of this house (in a negative held by the Library at 1/1-025857) as being held at the Heretaunga house at Taradale.
