View from above Grafton Gully, covered in dense bush, with low fenced hills and Governor Hobson's grave in the cemetery in the centre. A road runs past the cemetery towards Government House in the middle distance. Several other houses can also be seen. In the distance across the water, the flagstaff marks Mount Victoria, with Rangitoto beyond that. The flat island further off, left of centre is Tiritiri.
