A naive birds-eye view looking down on the almost circular atoll, with three sailing ships shown in the sea outside the reef, palm trees growing on the reef, a flag-pole in one group of trees. The scene appears to be subjected to a strong wind, although the waters of the lagoon are calm.Inscriptions: Verso - top right: Big island 1 to 1 1/2 m long; Verso - top left: The reef is nearly half a mile wide; Verso - centre: Lagoon = 12 miles x 8 miles.
