The cartoon shows a proud Wellington rugby player accepting a gift from a Springbok player of a springbok head. Attatched to the horns of the gift is a note reading 'To the first team to beat us'. In the foreground a lion sits in Wellington colours with the word 'suprema' written across its chest and a Wellington supporter is jumping with joy. Refers to Wellington defeating the Springboks and the tradition of receiving the Springbok head which is awarded to the first side to beat the Springboks while on tour.
