Man on a horse on the main street of Te Araroa, on the occasion of the hui for Te Moananui-a-kiwa Ngarimu, who was awarded posthumously with the Victoria Cross for bravery. His family were presented with the award at the hui in Te Araroa. Taken by John Dobree Pascoe on 3 October 1943.Original caption reads: "Te Araroa, a typical East Coast village by the sea. Behind 'Main Street' rises the cliffs of a former Ngati Porou stronghold."
