Historical Notes: The diary of Wynne Albert Bankes, an officer on HMS Iris, which is held in the Dorset County Record Office, records that on 22 March Bankes went "with Paymaster Moresby and Chaplain Campbell to take photographs up the Nerangai (sic) Gorge, beautiful scenery".
