Historical Notes: The Te Ao Marama meeting house, Ohinemutu, opened circa 1912. It was owned by the Bennett family and given by them to St Faith's Church for use as a parish hall. During the 1930's the Board of Maori Arts established the Rotorua carving school (led by Harold Hamilton) in this building. (Information from back of file print of 1/2-105145)
