The first building on the left is Woods Royal Hotel, during its occupancy by Major-General Pitt of the 58th Regiment, with a sentry-box outside. The building next-door, with the striped blinds draped over the balcony was the Royal Masonic Hotel and beyond that was the Union Bank of Australia, with flag fluttering in front.
