A sign for George Street is attached to a house wall at the extreme right. Members of the group are making a bucket of "bull" (alcoholic drink made from an old sugar bag which is soaked and fermented). European patrons come and go from a hotel in the background, displaying a sign of a kangaroo. A fishseller at the right carries a basket of fish on his head, and a female aboriginal carrying a baby on her back, has a fish in her right hand.
