E-455-f-065-1 = N. Z. Hutt Valley. Mr Fitzgerald's property. 1853. Shows a small house and outbuildings with cleared fenced land and dead tree trunks and a few tree stumps. Another more substantial homestead is in the background and bush-clad hills are just beyond. The larger house is probably William Fitzgerald's since his was a substantial place, surrounded by a large plot of land. E-455-f-062-2 = Hutt Valley New Zealand 1853. Hutt Bridge, Whitewoods and Hales hotels and R. Catholic Chapel taken from Mr Fitzgerald's field. Shows the Hutt River and bridge, 2 two-storied buildings (probably the hotels) and several single-storied houses and the Roman Catholic church right of centre with a small bell-tower. The bush-clad Western Hills are in the background. The church is located in Myrtle Street, Lower Hutt
