Contains copies of letters relating to police affairs. The bulk of the letters are addressed to the Colonial Secretary and to Henry King, Police Magistrate, New Plymouth. At the front of the volume is a chronological index containing details of the name of the recipient and the subject matter of the letter.

45 pages written 27 Apr 1846-30 Dec 1847 by Te Waru, Hoani Wiremu Hipango, Hori Kingi Te Anaua, Takerei Ngamotu, Sir Donald McLean and Dr Charles Knight in Port Nicholson, New Plymouth District, Ngamotu, Taranaki Region, Wanganui and Kawhia to Sir George Grey, Henry King and Sir Donald McLean in New Plymouth District, Auckland Region and Wellington, related to Dr Andrew Sinclair, Captain Henry King.
